In October, after weeks of fund raising, we reached our target and were ready for our reward, a trip to Alton Towers. Me and Joey weren't feeling at our best considering we had been partying the night before in the Krazy House, and only had 3 hours sleep. But this soon went away after a delightful Mc Donald's breakfast. We managed to get a little bit of sleep when we were on the mini bus, but were woken by commotion from the back seat. After going down quite a few country roads we arrived at Alton Towers.
This was the first time I had been and I was quite looking forward to it. We started off by going on The Black Hole. This is an indoor rollercoaster with the lights turned off. The carts seemed like they were ok, but we should of realised that they weren't meant for a fat man and a tall man to use them at the same time. I then stood on the side line and recovered from the sickly feeling I was getting. I took this opportunity to film a series of short movies of people from the group going on rides including Oblivion. We then decided that we wanted something to eat, so we went to Pizza hut and I had a mini margarita and chips. We then proceeded around the park, taking in loads of the rides and local scenery. Me and Joey spotted a pond in the middle of a valley, where the fish were massive.
We then went on what we believed was some sort of haunted house ride. However we were given laser pistols and had to shoot out dots on the walls and on things that popped out in front of you. Because it was just me and Joey, we had an extra gun in our cart. I took this opportunity to show off my marksman skills and use both pistols. It was very fun, but some of the things in the ride would come very close to the cart we were in, so I took it upon myself to use my pistol whipping skills and hit anything that came close to me. Luckily for me nobody saw this, otherwise I believe they would have thrown me out of the park. We then went on a brilliant rollercoaster and happened to meet two guys from up north. They were sitting in the car behind us and were so funny. Whilst on the rollercoaster we found the entrance to the rapids that we hadn't been able to find before, so after we got off we headed for it. The rapids were really great. We decided to rock our boat and ended up getting very wet indeed, especially as we were the only ones to go under the waterfall at the end when it was actually working. After finding our sea legs we decided to go for a different vessel, The Log Flume. We ended up filling the flume to its absolute capacity, with me at the very back.
We decided on a more friendly ride after this, so we decided to go on the tea cups. However, to everyone's amusement, the pizza, chips, Mc Donald's breakfast and the absolute skin full I had drank the night before, caught up with me and I felt that I was going to be sick. Upon announcing this everybody thought it would be a good idea to spin my tea cup even faster. Luckily enough I managed to hold it in, and my stomach settled. We then spent our last hour going around various arcades. Me, Joey, Simon and Joe made a great team as we all joined together with M16's in an arcade game where we were frontline soldiers. However, we were all picked off one by one and in the end an enemy helicopter finished me off. I took my newly found rage and decided to take up arms once again, but this time using a combat shotgun in the arcade blockbuster House of the Dead 3. Let's just say I blew those mothers away. We then turned our attention to the 2p machines, but after losing £2 on them I decided that the best thing to do was to give up. However it wasn't as easy for poor Claire, who had to be dragged from the machine. We then made our way back to the meeting point to find that not everyone was there. I had a prior engagement that evening so it was essential that I was home as fast as possible. However after 40 minutes there was still no sign of two of our group, so the staff went searching for them. After another 10 minutes they arrived, and we found out that they had met some girls in the park, so I couldn't really blame them for being late.
The ride home was more peaceful than the ride there, so I ended up dozing off on the coach. We arrived back in town in good time and I was able to make my engagement that evening.
