Below is an outline of our policies on the types of files that you can download off Cyberchat.

ROM's

» The ROMs on the following pages are for backup purposes only. If you do not own the actual game, you must delete the ROM from your hard drive within 24 hours.

» These ROMs will never be sold for profit, or distributed with emulators as a package.

» You will never hold anyone here at Cyberchat.freeservers.com, or any other Cyberchat domain (this includes but not limited to the webmaster, staff members or our host) for any damages caused by the ROMs or emulators.

» For legal issues, if you are affiliated with any government, anti-piracy group, IDSA group, former workers of, or any other related groups or organizations, you will not enter the website, download any of the files, or view any of the HTML. If you enter this site, you disagree to these terms violate code 431.322.12 of the Internet Privacy Act signed by Bill Clinton in 1995. This means you cannot persecute our ISP(s), any person(s), or company that is storing these files. You cannot persecute family, friends, individual(s) who runs or maintains this website, visitors, or anyone affiliated with this website.

» We reserve the right to change this policy any time.
 

Games

All games that are available for downloading off Cyberchat are either Freeware/Shareware, which means that the author of the game is allowing people to freely copy and distribute the game (as long as it is in no way edited or tampered with) or they are Demos which means that they can also be freely distributed and copied (as long as it is also in no way edited or tampered with). However, some games which are played off the site (Java and Flash Games) are hosted on other sites such as Newgrounds.com. I am hosting these games in order to publicise the extremely talented authors of them and increase the hits for Newgrounds.com. We at Cyberchat recommend that you visit Newgrounds.com as they are a brilliant site. 

Emulators

All emulators that can be downloaded from Cyberchat are Freeware and the authors of the emulators encourage the distribution of their programs. All emulators were created to play legal ROM's which can be distributed freely. These include demos and self made games designed to give the same feel of games created for that console. The fact that they can be used to run illegal ROM's is purely an unfortunate coincidence and the authors of all emulators that can be downloaded off Cyberchat, me or my sever, can not be held responsible for any miss-use of their programs.

Mods and Patches

Mods are basically modifications made to levels within games which make the game better. Some games companies may frown upon the use of mods, but at the end of the day they are perfectly legal and They open up your game to a whole new array of features that the game may not have originally optimised to the desired effects of the users. We have mods for games such as Grand Theft Auto and Commandos Behind Enemy Lines. Cyberchat Respects the various rights of the authors of these mods and we are only providing a bigger platform for these authors. All mods written by Cyberchat authors are shareware and can be freely distributed on anybody's site. We do however insist that you inform us if you are doing this as we like to know of other sites for Mods. And finally the files must remain in their current state of being zipped with their original text file advertising Cyberchat. Patches are simmilar to mods, however they change whole aspects of the game and correct errors. Cyberchat will be hosting patches soon and if you would like us to host any of your patches then please contact us. 

Sound Clips

All sound clips that are available from Cyberchat are either one of the following.

1. Extracts taken from either DVD's or VHS or even CD's which will have all been purchased legally

2. Extracts taken from Television performances that have not yet been released in the UK

If it is the first option then I must state that all clips were legally recorded (for back up purposes).  You are free to listen to these clips as many times as you want and if you own the clip then you can download it and keep it as a back up copy.

If it is the second option then the clip has been recorded onto VHS and then recorded into wav format using a microphone. I do not believe that I am breaking any laws by doing this and the purpose of me uploading these sound files is to merely express my passion for the program which it was taken from. It is also to bring it to other people who otherwise wouldn't have the ability to view the program. I believe that allowing people to preview these files will convince them to buy the program on either DVD, VHS or CD.

Once again if you do not legally own the material in any form then you can only listen to it and you can not download it.

Video Clips

This is quite similar to the Sound clips, except I own all of the Video clips legally because they have all been released on DVD and VHS.  The same rules apply to these clips and you can only download them if you own the video, but you are free to view them.

Deleted Scenes

I have made the very controversial decision to put scenes that have not been seen on TV before. I only plan to upload sound clips taken from DVD's such as I'm Alan Partridge and Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights. This is in an attempt to advertise the particular DVD so that they can see the full scene. I own the all of the DVD's and the recordings are my back up copies. As far as I know it is ok for you to listen to the clips, but you can not download them unless you own the DVD of what you are downloading.

 

What you have to realise at the end of the day is that all downloads have their own respective copy rights and I must state that you do need to own any of the media in its original form to download it. This includes sound clips, video clips and ROMs. It excludes Emulators and Games. And finally I want to make it totally and utterly clear that neither I or any server that Cyberchat happens to host its files on is in no way responsible for either the illegal downloading or miss-use in any way of any files at all. All media files are there so that people can watch or listen to some of the best comedy around. You will also notice that I have placed adverts for the sale of these videos and DVDs from sites like Blackstar so all in all the sales of the various DVD's will rise. 

● By downloading any of the files you agree that you have read this disclaimer and you realise that if you have broken any laws by downloading any of the files from Cyberchat you are the only person to blame for it and you are liable for prosecution.

● You are agreeing that I and my servers have warned you sufficiently enough about the problems that you may have thanks to you downloading anything from Cyberchat.

● You also agree that you will not bring about any legal action upon either me or my servers concerning illegal downloads.
